As part of Tuesday’s vote, the city will also apply to tap into a new transmission line that’s set to come online in 2028 and become the foundation of the San Jose Power. Officials maintain that the city isn’t looking to take over any of PG...

Crawford and others, the president of baseball operations for the Mariners doesn’t necessarily believe going out and signing high-profile free agents is the answer to make Seattle better than the other clubs in the AL West.“I don’t know that the solutions to our problems are big-name players. I’m not sure that we have big problems,” Dipoto said Tuesday, two days after the Mariners wrapped up an 88-win season that left Seattle two games shy of a playoff spot. “Would I like to have big-name players? Sure, I think we all would.”The conclusion to the Mariners’ season was a messy finish filled with missed opportunities and boiled-over frustration that emerged in the final days after the team fell short of a second straight tr...

The city has absorbed almost 120,000 migrants over the past year, with hundreds still arriving daily in need of housing and employment. “We want to give an honest assessment of what we are experiencing here in this city,” said Adams. “We are at capacity.”“We’re going to tell them that coming to New York doesn’t mean you’re going to stay in a five-star hotel. It doesn’t mean that, the mere fact that you come here, you automatically are going to be allowed to work,” he said. Adams has made a series of urgent pleas for a shift in federal immigration policy and for funding to help t...
