Classes still off early next week in Kentucky’s largest school district due to bus schedule mess LOUSIVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Louisville schools will remain closed early next week to allow for more time to fix bus routes whose redesign left some children at home on the first school day this year and others getting home hours late.The Jefferson County Public Schools had already canceled classes Thursday and Friday in response to Wednesday’s route fiasco. Now there will be no school Monday and Tuesday “as we continue to work on short and long-term changes to ensure the reliability of our bus services.” the district said Saturday on X, formerly known as Twitter. Those estimates were made based on visual inspection of satellite imagery and open source images.An estimated 2,170 acres burned in the Lahaina area, with 2,719 structures exposed to the fire. Search on for bear that broke into home west of Trinidad, clawed woman’s leg A black bear broke into a home in southeastern Colorado and clawed a woman’s leg. Wildlife officials are searching for the bear.The incident happened early Friday morning when a resident near Boncarbo, west of Trinidad, was awakened by a crashing sound and her dog growling, according to a Colorado Parks and Wildlife news release. Public Health Department alerts Lancaster residents of possible hepatitis A exposure at Panda Express  The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is working to alert consumers of possible hepatitis A exposure at a Panda Express in Los Angeles County. Hepatitis A was detected in a food handler who worked at the restaurant, which is located at 44411 Valley Central Way, the health department said in a release. “No additional cases have been identified at this time,” health officials said. The L.A. Abreu, Maton land on injured list for Houston Astros HOUSTON (AP) — Houston Astros first baseman José Abreu and reliever Phil Maton were placed on the injured list Saturday. Abreu was placed on the 10-day list with lumbar spine inflammation retroactive to Thursday. Maton went on the 15-day list after taking a line drive in the right elbow off the bat of Los Angeles Angels third baseman Eduardo Escobar in the ninth inning Friday night. Abreu said that he received two Cortisone shots in his back Friday and that he was feeling better.
