Ken Martin, chair of the state Democratic Party organization, called the melee that erupted Saturday night “unacceptable.” The DFL is an affiliate of the state Democratic Party.Video circulating on social media shows that the disturbance began after supporters of incumbent Aisha Chughtai took the stage to seek delegates’ backing fo...Pastors on Patrol walk for Village Barber and Beauty

GRANITE CITY, Ill. - FOX 2 has learned thieves have been repeatedly targeting a St. Louis area gem, the historic botanical garden Wilson Park in Granite City. They are stealing planted flowers by the dozen and lawn and garden equipment.“I consider (the garden) the heart of Granite City,” said Patrice Chandler, a visitor Thursday. “I just think it’s a special place. I tell people I’m going to my ‘Zen’ garden." In-N-Out Burger poised for major expansion, including in Missouri “It’s definitely a special place. The community really takes a lot of pride in this. That’s why it’s really frustrating,” said Justin Brinkmeyer, director of parks for Granite City. “It’s kind of a hidden gem.”Thieves have hit the garden five times this spring, he said. Mixed in with the rows of flowers, there are now empty patches where flowers have been dug up from an oasis of plants, flowers, water features, and walking paths started by benefactor Ernest Sieveking in the 1920s.The thefts occurred between 2:0...Robbery suspect released on bond after prosecutor delays

ST. LOUIS - A criminal defendant accused of stealing a car at gunpoint was released on an ankle monitor after repeated delays by the St. Louis Circuit Attorney’s Office. The defendant, Levi Henning, also once faced a murder charge that was previously dropped because of prosecutor failures.Only FOX 2 was in the courtroom when the judge faced a difficult decision, exacerbated by a no-show prosecutor.Judge Clinton Wright acknowledged that a new prosecutor’s office administration seems intent on doing better at avoiding future justice delays. However, the robbery defendant’s lawyer, W. David Mueller, successfully argued to the judge that future progress does not negate years of neglect.“No one showed up today for court, representing the state in this case, so what are we left with?” Mueller said after the hearing. His client, Henning, is accused of stealing a car while using a weapon near the Central West End in December 2018.Henning was also later charged with murdering Parkway West High...Late freeze in March and current dry conditions affected summer crops

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, Mo - Some people are noticing gardens and fruit trees are producing fewer blooms than normal. Summertime means picking strawberries, eating peaches fresh from the tree, and picking blackberries from the vine, but this year looks a little different."Our strawberry crop was really poor this year, and I think there is a lot of variables," said Andy Welle with Thies Farm and Market in Maryland Heights. "Water was one, the cold was one, the plants got to us a little later last year. But they're still picking. They're still blooming. We're going to get a few berries out of it. But the main crop is gone."He said below-average rainfall is impacting the growth of some crops. In-N-Out Burger poised for major expansion, including in Missouri "We've actually been watering constantly as soon as we get stuff planted. Like we've got here today," Welle said. "Cantaloupes and watermelons actually went in yesterday, and the water is actually on them right now just to keep them goi...Last place Cardinals playing like a first place team

ST. LOUIS – We are in the middle of a major global pattern change. We are moving from our third La Nina year to an El Niño pattern. And there are some indications that this pattern could be what’s called a Super Niño. That sounds pretty ominous – and it could be.The last Super Niño pattern was in 2016, and we saw the warmest global temperature on record. April and May have trended dry and our yearly average for rainfall is running a little bit short. The drought severity across Missouri is heightened just a bit because of this.
